All About KGD @ UNC

Kappa Gamma Delta (KGD) was founded in the winter of 1994 at the University of

California, Davis, by Charlene Tran and Marge Lee. Their vision was to create a professional sorority to support women in premedical studies and graduate school. On March 3, 1994, KGD held its first meeting, becoming the first premedical sorority in the United States.​

 

           Our motto is "Service to Humanity," we are guided by the pillars of Sisterhood, Professionalism, and Service.

• Service to Humanity is more than just a motto—it's a call to action! As a chapter, we have the unique opportunity to engage in meaningful service projects that benefit our local community and beyond, making a tangible difference in the lives of others. Whether through health outreach, volunteering with local organizations, or supporting healthcare initiatives, we can lead by example and inspire others to give back.​

• Sisterhood will form the heart of our chapter at UNC. As a group of women with shared aspirations, we’ll support one another through academic challenges, personal growth, and professional development. The bond we create will extend beyond campus, lasting through our careers and futures. We’ll celebrate each other’s successes and offer a helping hand when needed.​

• Professionalism is key as we navigate our academic and career paths. Through KGD, we’ll gain access to a network of accomplished individuals, mentorship opportunities, and professional development that will help us excel in the competitive world of healthcare. We’ll host workshops, guest speakers, and networking events to ensure that our members are always prepared for success in their future careers.
